Paddock Rolling

_

Where paddocks are regularly grazed on by horses the ground can quickly become uneven. This is because the impact of their hooves can easily cause damage to the ground, leaving quite an unsightly appearance. If your paddock is looking a little worse for wear, it may be a good idea to consider paddock rolling. We often advise paddock rolling just after winter and when the ground is dry. Doing this at a time when the ground is wet or damp may impact the growth rate of your grass, potentially leading to patches of uneven grass.

About our service

What is Paddock Rolling

_

Often caused by poaching or your horses’ hooves, uneven grassland can be easily rectified with the act of paddock rolling. With the right tools the ground can be flattened and put back to a natural, even state. Not only this, but the act of rolling will also help to maximise grass growth and spread in areas that you may notice bald patches.

With our specialist tools and machinery we have the necessary equipment to conduct paddock rolling and ensure proper paddock maintenance quickly and efficiently. It won’t take our teams long to complete the process of rolling and within no time you will notice a significant difference in the appearance of your grassland.

If you’ve been struggling with the growth of grass seed or other seeds on your land, rolling may help the seeds to establish themselves, encouraging growth.

It should be noted that paddock rolling is not always necessary and should only be carried out under particular circumstances. For example, we would suggest conducting field rolling in Spring and only when the land is completely dry.
