Finishing Mower
Wessex CMT200 2.0m
Designed primarily for lighter swards, we've found that finishing mowers give an unparalleled finish when weed topping in short grass.
Their design, usually comprising of three smaller rotary blades (think of a large garden mower), along with there four caster wheels and rollers minimises the risk of grass scalping while maintaining a low, precise cut.
Short of digging the weeds out, this is the best form of control & is widely used on our own livery.
Have an event coming up and need to manicure your large lawn or paddock? This is also where the finishing mower shines. The finishing mower can provide lawn levels of cut while covering ground fast... Ideal for wedding & event grass management.
The 2.0m Wessex CMT200 that we utilise is just as at home on our larger John Deere 4066R as it is on our highly manoeuvrable John Deere 2038R - thus making it a very versatile machine for any size paddock.
If your grass is getting away from you then we'd recommend stepping up to the Flail Topper or Rotary Topper service.

Flail Topper
Wessex WFM220 2.2m
Wessex WFM145 1.45m
Flail toppers excel in heavier swards, however they can also leave an almost lawn type finish.
The flail is an incredibly versatile paddock topper while also being capable of dealing with heavy brush and bracken.
This means that the flail topper will be predominantly what we recommend to use, whether it be for weed topping, grass growth regulation or land reclamation.
The flail will also leave a full spread of mulch behind it, this feeds the cut grass further and enhances soil condition, which, with correct management, will help to increase grass condition and yield over time.
We currently utilise two sizes of flail topper, a 2.2m machine suited to our John Deere 4066R tractor & a 1.45m machine utilised for tighter spaces on our compact John Deere 2038R.

Hampshire Paddock Management
Brush Type Manure Collector
Wessex MTX-120-E Dung Beetle
The Wessex Dung Beetle is a self powered brush type poo picker, pulled, in our case, by Honda Foreman quad bikes.
This set-up all but eliminates ground compaction, even in wet conditions, a fact that should be heavily considered due to the frequency that poo picking is required.
While there is definitely a place for vacuum style poo pickers (mostly in uncontrolled, tall grass) we have found that for the vast majority of applications a brush type of poo picker is optimal.
Further benefits come from the Dung Beetles ability to rake, poo pick and scarify, all in one pass. While we're not saying this machine takes the role of a dedicated grass harrow, the benefits we've seen on our own livery are tangible.
By removing dead thatch (grass) and debris you further enhance re-growth, meaning more grass with better feed value, and decreasing dependence on supplementary hay while additionally reducing further spring time maintenance costs (such as grass harrowing)
The fact that we, at Hampshire Paddock Management, are so excited by the Dung Beetle, considering what other equipment we have, speaks volumes as to how highly we recommend you try this exceptionally cost effective service.

Paddock Manure Picking
Improve pasture palatability, reduce weed expansion & worm burden, while further enhancing re-growth.
Poo picking is an often over-looked, under valued and unloved part of paddock maintenance.
Unfortunately it is usually of vital importance, especially if you're space limited.
Hampshire Paddock Management utilises an ATV based poo picking service, combining Honda TRX520 Foreman quad bikes with Wessex MTX-120E Dung Beetle paddock cleaners.
This provides an extremely efficient service, that not only poo picks, but also lightly scarifies your paddock - further enhancing re-growth and removing any dead thatch or debris.

John Deere 4066R
Hampshire Paddock Managements flagship, the John Deere 4066R, is currently the most powerful hydrostatic Compact tractor available in the UK.
What does that mean?
It means we can go places the competition can't or, if they can, it means we can complete jobs faster and far more efficiently. That's better for the environment, the land & your wallet.
Running large grass care tyres at low inflation pressures we can spread the already low weight of the 4066R (2,200kg) to even better eliminate ground compaction - however with a turbocharged 65hp engine under the bonnet it will drive our 2.2m Wessex flail mower through even the densest vegetation.
Ultimately this package is unbeatable for ground care & job efficiency.
Specified with a fully climate controlled cab Hampshire Paddock Management can complete your job throughout the hottest, and coldest days.
We are rightly proud of the 4066R and we cannot wait to show you its capabilities.
John Deere 2038R
Again, we've chosen the highest powered tractor in its class. The 2038 is the absolute epitomy of power, capability & manoeuvrability vs size.
We've opted for an "open station" 2038R with folding ROPS (roll bar). This means, unlike a cabbed tractor, we can navigate under low branches and height challenged entrances, further enhancing our abilities to assist you with your land.
We've matched the 2038R with its own compliment of mowers & attachments, meaning that it can give you an incredibly efficient, cost effective service in small to medium sized paddocks.
With a weight of just 1,100kg the 2038R adds the possibility to be transported to the job, further expanding our range of operations from our Romsey, Hampshire, base.

John Deere 6R 250
Our biggest machine, again, the most powerful in its class; the massive 7.8 ton john Deere 6R 250. This machine is simply massive and can power through pretty much anything that is thrown at it. It is maneuverable, powerful and capable of pulling through almost anything. IF you have a 12 foot gate we can get this machine in to make sure those fields are finished and ready for anything you wish to put in there!
